I think I've mentioned CaptainBonobo before, he's an iphoneographer I met on flickr who is spending a year finding faces and in following him, I occasionally find myself looking for them too.
A Chinese friend taught me this at school. She said that when people gave money, they liked to fold it into things that the receiver could spend it on. I thought it was a nice idea and the patterns you get look quite cool.
2010: The year we took photos, week 16 'and relax...'
I find looking at lines, curves, repeating patterns, geometric shapes soothing. I know it's weird, and call me a geek but there is something in the simplicity that's beautiful.
When the weather is fine you know it's the time
For messin' about on the river
If you take my advice there's nothing so nice
As messin' about on the river
There's big boats and wee boats ands all kinds of craft
Puffers and keel boats and some with no raft
With the wind in your face there's no finer place
Than messin' about on the river
There's a bit of a 'who can make the longest shadow photo' going around the iphone photography community at the mo. I haven't done one of the longest but it gave me the idea.
She's been a keen reader for a while but this was the first time she'd properly taken a book out with her and was reading it at any spare opportunity. Not bad for a 6 year old. It was a really proud moment :)
Another visit to the Royal Armouries in Leeds. As we've said before, there may be lots of things to kill people with, but they were beautifully made. The Hall of Steel is my favourite part.
It really amused me when I saw what the kids had set up, I could hear spaghetti western music instantly.... I like to think these guys cleared out the baddies and then rode off into the sunset. With an elephant.
As a child you get to belt it down the drive with your friends, peddling so fast your knees are a blur. You could
crash any minute but you're too little to worry about that, you're just busy having a marvellous time
2010: The year week took photos, week 14 - as a child
Today I spent the whole day with my Mum - we went out to lunch, had a pamper session at a spa and finished with shopping and ice cream. Result. In amongst all of that I never got a photo, but here is a picture of our favourite flowers: freesias for my Mum and tulips for me :)
Remember the one that got away? This is still not as good as that one but it's not far off. And I didn't do anything to the lights, they came out like that.
Washing at my parents' house. I thought the pink and orange pegs reminded me of bunny ears. Notice their OCD thing (everyone has one)? No item can be attached with two different colour pegs. Well, it could be worse... ;)
Ps. I have now done more in this 365 project than ever before. No small thanks to the group of talented cameraphone users I've found on flickr, who've each shown me there is a way to get good pictures after all
Well more snow and hail than April showers. Snow. I ask you.
Shame I couldn't take any photos driving home I saw some massive cumulus congestus, lenticularis, cirrus, contrails and even some iridescence and some other stuff = 155 points!
